Here on Pawsteps Past wee are very loose when it comes to the naming process. We believe that naming a character should be a fun task, not a grueling one. Of course, we do ask that you do not use any human-specific words while naming a character unless, of course, they are a kittypet. If you are at all worried or confused on the validity of a name, please don't hesitate to ask.
There is a rule in place that suffix can only be in use once at any given time in a single Clan and there are to be no identical names in the forest. Essentially, this means that ThunderClan cannot have both a Stoneclaw and a Stonepaw AND that if ThunderClan has a Stonepaw, RiverClan cannot also have a Stonepaw (even if their warrior names are to be different). Although it is a tad harder to track, we do ask that liquidity be honoured here. If you know that there was a Stoneclaw that died three moons ago, your apprentice that was born six moons ago should not be named Stonepaw.
Ranks have always seemed so set in stone and that isn't necessarily the case here. Just because a kit is 6 moons doesn't mean they will automatically be promoted. If a kit or apprentice is the right age to advance but is not the right maturity or if there is no warrior to take them on, they will not advance. The following list of ages is a generalization.
Kit - 0-6 Moons
Apprentice - 6-12
Warrior - 12+
Senior Warrior - 50+
Elder - Any
Here on Pawsteps Past, we treat Senior Warrior as a mini-High Position. While there is no limit to how many you can have and playing a senior warrior does not affect your other characters, we ask players to remember that this is an honoured title and just because your cat is old does not automatically grant them this rank. A cat must nominate them as senior and it must be approved by the leader and deputy. You are welcome to create a cat into this rank, but you must list a reason why they have earned it in their history.
