The afternoon sun rose high in the blue and gray sky. The dawn patrol had already gone and come back. Their luck had been wonderful. Fresh, bloody prey now sat in the freshkill pile, and Blizzardstar purred as she watched queens, kits, and elders come up and take their share. Slowly the pile started to go down, but still their seemed to be a good amount. Her purr was from happiness and relief. For once in a lifetime she didn’t need to worry, however the strict leader wasn’t about to eat before hunting. She believed that a warrior should always go out hunting before eating, however this wasn’t always possible, and she wasn’t about to judge those who didn’t follow her same beliefs… more or less.
Crawling out from her corner of the camp, Blizzardstar went to join the middle of the clearing. She looked longingly into the freshkill pile. Her stomach growled with a furious longing, but the white she-cat refused to give in to her hunger. She needed to hunt, but it was too nice of a day to go out alone. Who can I pull out to the river to hunt? Her eyes moved from cat to cat, till they landed on… ”Winterfrost!” Blizzardstar marched over to the blue she-cat with her tail high up in the air. ”Winterfrost, would you be interested in going fishing with me?” Winterfrost

The emerald eyed she cat was about to sink her teeth into a nice, fresh but rather small fish, when her leader called her name. Jerking back the female flattened her ears in surprise but soon relaxed upon recognising Blizzardstar. The green eyed female looked curiously at the leader as she invited her to go fish with her. Honestly, the blue she-cat was a little surprised at the leader's desire to go with her! after all Winterfrost wasn't known to be the most welcoming of cats. Nevertheless the young female nodded her head gracefully at the leader's request before speaking.
" Of course I will accompany you Blizzardstar" The polished, honey like words slipped from the velvety soft lips of the warrior, her tone was Blizzardstar was one of mutual respect, Winterfrost would only respect those who respected her. Blizzardstar was one of the very few cats that Winterfrost was loyal to the core about, a fact which horrified her ailing mother since Winterfrost's father's death the previous year. Her mother resented the clan's decision to end the leader of the rogue attack, that killed many of the clan's best. Winterfrost, on the other hand was slightly more accepting but blood was thicker than water and Winterfrost couldn't bare to lose her mother or siblings due to an uprising. As such, the female did her best to insure no one knew that the rogue tom who had killed so many, was her father.
"It's a lovely day and if we are in luck, the water might be clear enough for us to catch some larger fish" The female noted glancing at the pile with slight disapproval in her gaze, there was a lot of fish but they weren't all that large, Winterfrost was taught that Quality over quantity was important. As such the female disapproved of the current state of the food pile, However, the blue she cat was rather picky about fish and food, she could afford to since she wasn't the worst at fishing or hunting. Her emerald eyes soon returned to their normal semi harsh state as she returned her gaze to her leader.

The snowy pelted leader purred and twitched her whiskers when she saw Winterfrost nod. ” " Of course I will accompany you Blizzardstar" ”Very good.” Keeping her tail up in the air behind her, Blizzardstar started to move calmly, but quickly towards the exit out of camp. She hoped that the warrior was following her. The air around her was brisk as she moved, yet her thick pelt kept out the elements. Her gorgeous winter coat hadn’t shed fully, so the she-cat was still covered from head to tail in fur. In her mind, she looked like a weird, awkward, fluffy snowball. However she didn’t look that bad, minus the random clumps of shedding hair that would randomly fall off of her.
”Yes… Yes I do hope so…” The leader chuckled as she slid out of the camp and into the territory, ”May StarClan be generous today.” When the leader had been an apprentice, she had never believed in the legendary power of her ancestors. Until the day that Mousetuft took her to go speak with them. It had been amazing. The eternally beautiful forest that they lived in seemed like a dream, and it had been overwhelming. With tears in her young eyes, Blizzardpaw had met her father and sister for the first time. That was one of the only times she had really cried, except for when Rabbitpetal died. She didn’t die… The leader had to tell herself that every day. Rabbitpetal had been one of the few cats that understood her, and then she had been taken away. It was some sick joke, yet the leader still kept on moving and surviving, but by no means did she love her life.
Blizzardstar turned her cold, green eyes onto the young warrior, ”Do you mind if we head up stream, closer to the farm? I have found that I have better luck up there.” Her voice was as cold and aloof as it always was, but right now her voice wasn’t harsh. She wasn’t trying to insult, scare, and intimidate this young she-cat. She just wanted this cat to understand that she was in charge, and that she wasn’t going to back down. The snowy she-cat was all about appearances, and she wanted to make sure that every single cat in the clan respected her. Of course, this is impossible, and some part of Blizzardstar’s mind knows that. Furthermore, the leader knew of this cat’s history. She knew about Winterfrost’s father, and how he had acted. Trust wasn’t something that was easy to get from Blizzardstar, and as far as she was concerned Winterfrost would never have her trust. You don’t need trust to become a good warrior. You just need to work hard.

Winterfrost followed along after the leader, still a little in shock that the leader asked her, so surprised that the she cat bordered on suspicious about the reason behind her inclusion in this little trip. The female kept quiet as Blizzardstar mentioned StarClan and how she hoped they would be kind upon the pair's efforts of fishing. Winterfrost had not been able to ever see her ancestors, her parents were around for most of her life. Her mother was a respected elder in the clan and her father... well he was dead and left a lot to be desired in terms on how he was remembered as.
The young female knew that Blizzardstar was one of the very few who knew about her past and thus the she cat felt the need to prove that while she was no pushover, she was nothing like her father. Winterfrost was loyal and true, she would never harm another cat, especially an innocent. Briefly her thoughts took her to the day that she had seen her leader cry. The only time the female had shown any heavy emotion. The day after Winterfrost's father's attack. Though Winterfrost was sure that Blizzardstar was in mourning for all of the lost clan cats, It was the final fight against her father that took Blizzardstar's best friend Rabbitpetal's life that was the true reason, at least to the grey female's knowledge, behind the leader's tears.
The emerald eyed warrior snapped out of her thought's when the leader spoke once more, this time about moving upstream and again elegantly nodded her head. Choosing to keep quiet rather than speak again. She was already on edge enough in the silence that surrounded the young she-cat, she would prefer if the rest of the journey was silent, a brief flick of her long grey tail showed her mood but she kept her eyes soft, not wanting to seem like she was undermining the authority of the leader but enough to let her know that Winterfrost wasn't a pushover. " I don't know why you asked me here but if it's to enquire on my mother then I must insist you speak to her" The female finally broke the silence, the pressure of feeling like she would be blindsided by an inquiry after her ,mother proved a bit much for the young female to handle.

Blizzardstar’s snowy white paws moved quickly across the soft ground. She let Winterfrost stay in silence. She could respect a cat who required some silence. Many cats seemed to find it uncomfortable, but there was nothing wrong with not wanting to speak or not having anything to say.
"I don't know why you asked me here but if it's to enquire on my mother then I must insist you speak to her" Immediately, Blizzardstar stopped in her tracks, ”You flatter yourself. You are merely a warrior here to catch prey for your clan. That is it.” It was a sharp response, but she didn’t care for cats that kept themselves on too high of a pedestal. Her mother, Lilysong, had made sure that her kit understood where she belonged in life. Blizzardstar was merely a cat here to help keep her clan alive. Other than that, she was just a cat, no one special. ”Now,” She said with venom in her voice, ”I think we should stop here and hunt, because that is what we are here to do.” She meant for silence to follow her words. She didn’t want to talk, however she didn’t know if the gray warrior knew or would respect that.
The river shimmered and bubbled as it move downhill. Blizzardstar’s ruffled feelings about Winterfrost moved to the back of her mind as she watched the water. It was beautiful and insane, yet calm at the same time. Her tail still lashed showing her anger, but her mind began to calm down. She bent down so she could see into the water, and she began to wait for a sign of a fish. The fish choose to stay near the center of river, yet every once and a while you could catch one coming to the sides of the river where the reeds were.
A bright flash of silver came into the leader’s peripheral vision, and her paw darted towards it. For one moment all she felt was cold water, and then she felt a fish and quickly pulled her paw out the water. Her catch was a small, silver fish. It wasn’t a great catch, but it would easily provide a meal for an apprentice or small warrior. She put it to the side and began to watch the rippling water again.
Note: Rabbitpetal was actually chased out of the territory by dogs. She isn’t dead, but Blizzardstar thinks she is dead. She is living with twolegs. She is a character in Blizzardstar’s history and was adopted by Kestrel. Also, Winterfrost wouldn’t have seen Blizzardstar cry.

Winterfrost merely rolled her eyes when the leader insisted that she didn't bring her in particular along to enquire about her mother. She scoffed lightly at the venom filled tone her leader had adopted and flicked her tail to express annoyance. Silence followed the gestue,Though Winterfrost's eyes flicked with suspicion as the leader spoke once more about fishing.
The young she cat wasn't exactly used to being bossed around but she bebrudgingly accepted that the leader did not wish to speak about her mother, while not overly fond of Blizzardstar. Did have enough respect for the leader to realise her wish for silence and happily obliged to the unspoken request. Trust wasn't what the grey female was after, she really didn't care if the leader didn't trust her. The she cat's issues were her own. Winterfrost's issues lay squarely on the fact that those who knew about Thorntail, held the young warrior, an apprentice at the time, accountable for his actions. A stigma the female despised and longed tp rid herself off.
Winterfrost followed her leader's example and managed to catch a few decent sized fish in her usual ice queen demeanor, of course Winterfrost made a few mistakes in catching them but hopefully Blizzardstar would not push the already agitated female over the edge by implying she wasn't very good. Admittedly the warrior did a fine job, losing only a small silver fish in her catch of 4. The female wasn't very big, as such 4 was all she could carry, unless she could manage to make something out of the reeds to carry more fish but that might not be the wisest idea to show up the leader thus Winterfrost sunk to her chest and lazily stretched out in the sun before proceeding to clean her fur.
Note: My apologies, forget I said anything about that.
